Technical Statement
Dreaming a Fingertip Conversation with You _ tactuaL [si:gak] series is visual-touch communicating device that
permutes time delay in touch sense out-put in Braille reading into visual images which enables people
who communicate through general visual images to understand its meaning.

The hardware consists of three parts; the input section, which is touch sensor connected to object, Wiring I/O board,
which mediates signals in between, and the output section of Display and Sound output.

This work consists of 3 parts in display:
1. tactuaLight [text] : LED display panel
2. tactuaLight [image] : LED display panel
3. tactuaListening [sound] : Sound output & Projected display panel

These installations use the software, the Processing Language that implements dynamic graphics
on display panel and the Wiring, a hardware-controlling program contained inside of the Wiring I/O board.

The input signal from the touch sensor, which senses the static electricity of fingertips,
can transform into LED power control output signal or Sound output signal in Wiring.

Also in Processing, signal from serial port gives direct affect on elements of constituent changes.
In the interaction process, audience can communicate with the work that implements into dynamic image, sound and text contain message.


Dreaming a Fingertip Conversation with You _ TactuaL [si:gak] series 는
일반적인 시각 언어로 의사 소통하는 사람에게 촉각적인 시간차로 점자를 읽었을 때, 그 출력을 시각적 장치로 치환하여
그 의미를 알게(understanding) 해주는 촉각/시각 의사전달 장치이다.

작품의 구성요소 중 하드웨어는 크게 세 부분으로 나눌 수 있는데,
먼저 입력부분인 오브젝트와 결합된 터치센서, 중간 신호연결 부분인 Wiring I/O board, 디스플레이와 사운드 출력부분으로 나눌 수 있다.

이 때 디스플레이 부분에서 작품은 크게 세 형태로 분류된다.
1. TactuaLight [text] : LED기판과 종이 디스플레이
2. TactuaLight [image] : LED기판과 종이 디스플레이
3. TactuaLips [sound] : 사운드 출력과 프로젝트 된 화면

Tactual Series에 사용된 소프트웨어는 화면의 동적 그래픽을 구현해주는 Processing 언어와
Wiring I/O board에 내장되어 있는 하드웨어 제어 프로그래밍 언어인 Wiring이 사용되었다.
Wiring에서 손끝의 정전기를 감지하는 터치센서의 입력 신호를 LED 전원 제어 출력 신호로 변환시켜 주거나 Sound 출력 신호로 바꾸어 준다.

또한 Processing에서 시리얼 포트를 통해 신호를 받아 화면 구성요소 변화에 직접적 영향을 주도록 하였다.
